High-Carb Breakfast Bowl

Good Morning!

When I wake up in the morning, I usually am in the mood for savory breakfast items — eggs, potatoes, avocado toast, etc. Today I was feelin’ something sweet and substantial to fuel my workout at the gym. This combination really hit the spot.



Layer the following ingredients in a bowl:

  • 2 ripe bananas, sliced
  • 2 tbsp warmed up peanut butter (I used crunchy)
  • 1/2 a handful of your favorite granola (I used Nature’s Path – Pumpkin Flax granola)
  • 2-4 strawberries, sliced
  • Dash of cinnamon

Breakfast foods should be high in complex carbs, healthy fats, and substantial protein sources in order to fill you up and keep you satisfied for longer. This combination is not only delicious, but will satiate you and be able to fuel you for whatever your morning has in store. To up the protein, you could add some hemp protein powder, left over quinoa, flax seeds, a mixture of nuts and seeds, etc.
