Lemon-Ginger Green Smoothie

Green smoothies are all the rage right now. Why? Because drinking your greens through a pretty straw is waaaay more fun than eating them.

All joking aside, green smoothies are an excellent way to get your greens in – green foods harbor tons of vitamins and antioxidants that are extremely beneficial for our bodies. Green smoothies can be especially great for people who don’t necessarily like the taste of dark leafy greens, but want to reap the benefits of them. The fruit you add to your smoothie will mask the taste of the kale, spinach, etc. making it much easier to drink. As long as you don’t load your smoothie with sugar, dairy, or juices, they’re a healthy way to get your day started, pick you up in the afternoon, or end your day on a high note.

This particular smoothie has a kick and punch to it from the ginger and lemon, hence the name. It’ll definitely wake you up in the morning. Try it out!

In a blender, combine the following:

  • The juice of 3 lemons
  • 2 cups baby spinach, packed
  • 1 inch fresh ginger, peeled and roughly chopped
  • 2 cups frozen mango
  • 1-2 cups coconut water (depending on how liquidy you like your smoothie)

Blend up and enjoy!
